Terms of Service

Last updated: June 23, 2026

Welcome to Steady Budget. These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and Steady Budget that covers how you may use the service. Steady Budget is a personal budgeting tool, and right now it is free to use. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use Steady Budget.

1. The service is free for now

Steady Budget is offered free of charge while it's early. We may introduce paid features or plans in the future, but we make no promises about pricing, paid functionality, or future availability today. Nothing in these terms commits you to pay anything, and nothing here is a promise of a feature, service level, or guarantee that doesn't yet exist.

2. Your account

You sign in with your email address, which serves as your identity on the service. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for the activity that happens under your account. Please give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current. You can stop using Steady Budget at any time.

3. Acceptable use

We ask that you use Steady Budget responsibly. In particular, you agree not to:

  • attack, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without our written permission;
  • use the service to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights;
  • interfere with another person's use of the service, or attempt to access another person's account or data;
  • copy, scrape, or resell the service in a way that harms it or other users.

We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service or these terms.

4. Your data

The budgeting information you enter is yours. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy. Steady Budget is a planning tool, not financial, tax, or legal advice — you're responsible for the decisions you make with it.

5. No warranty

Steady Budget is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Because the service is free and still evolving, we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any data will be preserved. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steady Budget and the people behind it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or savings, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Because the service is provided free of charge, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it (which is currently nothing) or one hundred US dollars.

7. Changes to the service and these terms

We're actively building Steady Budget, so the service will change over time, and we may add, modify, or remove features. We may also update these terms as the product grows. When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
